Hi Kristi — I really appreciate your taking the time to read my piece, and to comment.

I don’t know if this will be meaningful to you, but I’d like to flesh out your comparison of a line heard amongst Dems — “Whoever the candidate is, you’ve just got to vote for him/her.” You are perceiving it as a simple command, an attempt at control of minds and behavior.

Here’s the real story behind that line: in general, Democrats are terrified of what will happen — to ALL of us — if Trump stays in office. With good reason, we are terrified of a nuclear war. Of corporate greed and climate change speeding the planet to its demise. Of ever-increasing numbers of mass shootings. There is sound logic behind that notion: that whatever it takes, TO SAVE ALL OF US, Dems and Repubs and Independents alike, we, the Democrats, must get Trump out of office. And to do that, we must unite behind whomever is on the ballot opposing him.

You might not agree with that logic; my goal is not to sway your thinking. Rather, it is to encourage you to do a little research, to see if there is logic or truth behind the Fox News one-liners.
